Hello Selkirk Coyote Families,
We hope this letter finds you well. As Ecole Selkirk Elementary’s 2023/2024 social-emotional team, we wanted to introduce ourselves:

This is my 5th year as Selkirk’s fulltime school counsellor, and I am grateful to be a part of this amazing and dynamic community! I have a Master of Education in Supporting and Enhancing Children’s Mental Health, and I am in the final stretch of my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. I am passionate about developmentally-responsive education, and I am a certified trainer in the Neurosequential Model. When I am not at school, I can be found chasing my family around the Riverdale Trails! I am looking forward to reconnecting with returning Selkirk families, and to meeting new Coyotes

We are striving to take proactive mental wellness measures. This year we will be working with teachers to support Selkirk’s developmentally-responsive initiative, and to assist social-emotional learning in the classroom. We are also available to work with students who need extra support to ensure a successful school day by providing teaching of:

-Social skills                                                   -Emotional awareness
-Decision-making                                           -Health & wellness
-Self-regulation
