During art classes the children have been practising the First Nations art shapes of "ovoids" and "U" shapes. We practised on whiteboards and then created a First Nation style butterfly with paper and pencil. After that, they used their art to create a 3-D printed image of their butterflies. We created butterfly art because we were also studying the lifecycle of butterflies and frogs.

Welcome to a snapshot of Mme Alysha's Grade 1/2 French Immersion class! It has been a wonderful year full of learning and growth. It's been wonderful to walk alongside the Grade 1s as they have learned to read, and it's been so great to experience the Grade 2s' growth in their learning as they have explored harder texts and challenges! This video starts with photos of the students at the beginning of the day and ends with recent photos. This class LOVES to do art and they are so proud of all the work they have done this year! It has been a pleasure to teach such a great group of students!

Here is a spring song we have been working hard on! Also, we had fun learning about the water cycle. This dance helped us remember the water’s journey.

2/3C

Welcome to our Grade 2/3 class! We have had an amazing year. Our class loves to go for walks, build, play games, do Math drills and Mad Libs, and pyjama party! We have done some really cool crafts, like the bead painting and rock painting you will see in our pictures. We have done daily work on our yoga and meditation skills, and have enjoyed tons of cozy reading time together. Thanks for being a part of our Grade 2/3 family, boys and girls!

Welcome and thank you for taking the time to watch this celebration of learning video from Mme Silke’s amazing 3/4 French Immersion class.
This class loves learning outside together and working on group projects. In this video you will first see our French Immersion Week project. The students brought wonderful costumes to school and dressed like in Klondike Gold Rush time. Then you will see different artworks, as well as the project we worked on during Autism Acceptance Month.
We hope you like our video! Three cheers for our amazing class, our amazing teacher, and our amazing Educational Assistants!

Welcome to our grade 4-5 French immersion class. What an unforgettable year we have had together. Joy, perseverance and art are the three words that come to my mind when I think of our beautiful year together. I am very grateful to have had the honor of teaching these 25 wonderful persons.
Je vous aime mes beaux élèves et je suis vraiment fière du chemin que vous avez parcouru depuis le début de l'année. In this celebration of learning, we have chosen to present our biggest project of the year: The Cirque de Selkirk Circus Show. Let yourself be carried away by the magic that we have created together in the past months.

This class LOVES learning new things and always finds ways to laugh and learn. We are loud but we are fabulous! We hope you enjoy seeing all the artwork, exploration in nature and the adventures we have been up to this year!
Hip, hip, hurray for these awesome students … the World’s Best Class for the World’s Best Teacher!

5DF

What an amazing year in Grade 5 D/F. Students have been immersed in French language, taken part in the heritage fair, studied the human body, crushed math problems and written oodles of stories. There is a real sense of community about this class where each character (including Chuck) shines through with their strengths, humour and kindness!

5/6R

The Grade 5-6 French immersion Celebration of Learning featured mainly the student project on Robotic and the acrylic art project offered by Rhoda, which was part of the "Artist in the school" program. I thank her for sharing with us her exceptional creativity.
At the same moment I am writing this short description, I received an email from Glenna Howard telling me that our class won the Yukon Robotic Contest. She will come and present the trophy later this month.
I want to thank the students for embarking in this integrated learning project that was designed to engage students, not only as programmers, mathematicians and builders but also as team workers and problem solvers.
It was a pleasure to see them work and learn.
I hope you'll enjoy the video.

6/7H

Welcome to grade 6/7H!

Let’s take a moment to reflect on the past 8 months in our class. At the beginning of the school year, we started with a Leadership camp out at Mount Lorne Community Center. Our time spent out there helped to solidify our class community, develop strong friendship and expand our enthusiasm for learning in the class and beyond. As the year progressed, we continued to have fun by doing weekly outdoor ed adventures, continued practice of our leadership skills and lots of hands-on learning.

6/7J

Welcome to 6/7J!
We might not be the most photogenic class at Selkirk but be assured we did smile, we did laugh and we did learn together! I am so proud of this fabulous group of students for their hard work and dedication within the walls of the classroom and beyond. Watching them develop into leaders, creating friendships and seeing their enthusiasm for learning has made this year one for the books!

6/7K

Creating a love for the environment around us and long life friendships.
